Gymnastics death drug claim

Some might remember the tragic death of Michelle Maitland in Townsville about a year ago. A hearing has begun which has revealed that she was under the influence of marijuana at the time. The hearing is trying to determine if Townsville Gymnastics breached WH&S standards. Read about it here:

  1. Those people who listened to the trial will also be aware that the marijuana mentioned was in residual quantities only. They would also have heard the head coach admit to the judge that they would usually have had a crash mat over the area of concrete where Michelle's skull was broken and that it is now permentantly fixed in place to avoid future deaths and injuries. WH&S only focused on lack of risk assessment but the gym made many efforts to falsely divert attention from that and proffered misleading information.
